On March 27th, 2010 City of Farmington Firefighters from “B” Shift conducted a training exercise in an acquired structure located at 3701 East Main Street. Under the direction of Captain Andy Ebner, Engine Companies 2, 4, 5, and Ladder Company 1 had the opportunity to hone their skills in a number of areas. Firefighters from each company practiced roof ventilation, breaching exterior walls, and a mayday scenario that included the breaching of interior walls to allow personnel to escape a simulated hostile environment. The building is being cleared for new commercial development in the area, and provided the chance to perform these tasks in a “real” structure.
