What's New at BHF.Com?

What's New
09/22/08 - I traveled to Colorado Springs, CO to attend the IAFF Memorial Service on September 20th, 2008. The photos are posted under the “FIRE MEMORIAL” section.

07/29/08 - At approximately 13:00 hours, the Fort Lewis Fire District was dispatched to a report of a wildland fire in the area of the Vista de Oro subdivision off of County Road 117. Photos are posted in the "PHOTO GALLERY 3" section.

07/05/08 - At 02:01 hours Farmington Fire units were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 1700 North Mesa Verde Avenue. Units arrived to find a shed fire in the alley between North Mesa Verde Avenue and North Cochiti Avenue. Photos are posted in the "PHOTO GALLERY 3" section.

06/22/08 - I have added a Farmington, NM wildland fire to the “PHOTO GALLERY 3” section. This incident required numerous Farmington and San Juan County fire resources to contain the blaze. The corresponding 1st Responder News story is linked to the “1ST RBN ARTICLES” section.

06/18/08 - I have added a Durango, CO structure fire to the “PHOTO GALLERY 3” section. The corresponding 1st Responder News story is linked to the “1ST RBN ARTICLES” section.

06/16/08 - I have added a Bloomfield, NM structure fire; an outside fire at a Lee Acres, NM store; and a Farmington, NM vehicle accident to the “PHOTO GALLERY 3” section. The corresponding 1st Responder News stories for Bloomfield and Lee Acres are linked at the “1ST RBN ARTICLES” section.

04/13/06 – I had the opportunity to attend the 80th Annual Fire Department Instructors Conference in Indianapolis, IN. I managed to put the camera to work while I was in town and I have updates to a few BHF sections. You can find the new Indy material under the “BUFF TRIPS,” “FIRE MUSEUMS,” and “BUDDY SHOTS (8)” sections.

03/28/08 – It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Retired Clovis Fire Chief Bill Morey. This loss leaves a gaping hole in New Mexico's Fire Service community. While Chief Morey assumed many roles (Chief, Mentor, Peer, and Friend), his years of providing instruction to many of today's volunteer and career firefighters helped create his legacy. Bill Morey's passion for the fire service started when he was 4 years old, and remained with him until his passing. More on Chief Morey and the services can be found in the “1st RBN ARTICLES” section.

03/06/08 - A plumber’s torch may be responsible for causing a fire that heavily damaged two condominium units at the Durango Mountain Resort (formally the Purgatory Ski Area). Units from the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority (DFRA) were dispatched to the 49000 block of Highway 550 for a report of a structure fire. Initial reports from dispatch indicated that fire and smoke were seen coming from a condo complex. First arriving units were confronted with a well developed fire that was extending into an attached unit. Photos from this incident can be found in the “PHOTO GALLERY 3” section. The associated 1st RBN article can be found in that section.
