Once the interior walls were opened up, the bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down. Units encountered a wood burning stove that had been installed into the home’s fireplace. The fire had traveled into a number of small recesses within the structure’s original fireplace and chimney area creating a challenge in completely controlling the incident. Units from Station #2 (Engine & Tender 62) and Station #1 (Engine & Tender 61), as well as Deputy Chief Randy Larson (603) operated at this event.
