The fire displaced approximately 11 residents of the duplex apartment building. After investigating the cause and origin and collecting witness statements, Chief Lawrence said that the fire was caused by a boiler malfunction in the basement of the structure. Firefighters were on the scene battling the fire for over four hours in extremely cold temperatures.
