Los Pinos Fire Photos (8)

On August 6th, 2007 at approximately 13:19 hours the Los Pinos Fire District was dispatched to 120 Candelaria Drive, Apartment #6 on a report of a garage fire. First arriving firefighters found smoke coming from the garage of a two-story three-unit town home. Engine 81’s crew forced entry by way of the overhead door to gain access to the garage.

The attack crew encountered a fire contained to a trailer that was decorated as a parade float. The crew had a quick knock down on the fire and the smoldering trailer was taken out of the garage. While the contents of the garage had suffered some heat and smoke damage, an inspection with a thermal imaging camera showed that the fire had not extended to the building itself. The garage and the apartment were ventilated and the remaining fire damaged materials from the float were overhauled and removed. Los Pinos firefighters were on scene for approximately 1 hour.
